The year of the Moon.  The year of dharma. The cycle of deep truth, personal and collective reflection. 

2 - 0 - 0 - 9 is comprised of the vibration of:  MOON (2) COSMIC VOID (0), COSMIC VOID (0) MARS (9).  This vibrational summary has the attributes of being cool, emptiness/transformation - hot, the numbers indicate the the energetics of: reflection (2), change of consciousness (0), re inforced as it appears thru two "0"s, and focused action (9).

This year brings a shift of perspective which can help release us from fear and anxiety about the future.  It is the year of the partner, global and personal.  Sun and Moon are the celestial luminaries.  Last year we had the impetous of the Sun (being a No. 1 year), where our soul was stirred (hopefully), the Sun being the King and this year, 2009, the Moon being the Queen, is its complimentary reflection.  So whatever was discovered during the soul cycle will now be felt and reflected back to the world. This No. 2 year is supported by the strength, power and purpose of Mars, the General in the cosmic assembly of the gods.  Numerologically a year of depth, partnership empowerment, focus and meditative attunement to what is.  A call to conscious relating, finding your clan, finding solace in your dharma, marrying your highest vision.  Living out your sacred trust.  Marrying your Spirit to matter.

The question is: are we doing all that we can?  Depending on our "inner work", our world view, our dharma (righteous action), and the heart that we bring to the Here and Now.  We cannot really presume that our evolutionary work is ever finished!!  We need to learn to see all our motivation and actions against the larger backdrop of how our actions affect the whole, and the ultimate significance of each single life as an essential part of the whole (without all the bees in the hive -no honey!).  In 2009 we need to give it all we have and trust the rest to that which we perceive as God, Nature and the Universe.  May our co-creative roots find hydration in the liquidy essence of the Moon.  We each need to contribute to alleviate each others suffering, yet release any attachments to how things will be.  Just trusting our innate goodness and that if each sentient being becomes more conscious of our shared humanity, shared resources, and shared fate of the impermanence of everything - we will want to offer our heart with more devotion.  This is the act of service, of honouring the integrity and need of each other human being as our own, knowing that like us, their lives will come to pass through the beauty and pain of human birth and move toward death. 

Its immediate meaning may surpass our mundane understanding.  Yet in this Moon cycle everyone is called to a higher truth and to recognise the "evidence of things unseen; our conscience."  To take personal responsibility for our part in the collective manifestations and be awake to our participation in unsustainable practices.  NOTHING WILL GROW UNLESS IT IS GREEN.  Daily!  Mahatma Ghandi's life whose numbers are 2/9, subsequently mirrors this needed consciousness beautifully.  His actions being of non-violent service, infusing the masses of India to see that "freedom must be tested against daily practice".  His tombstone reads:  "THINK OF THE POOREST PERSONS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN, AND ASK IF YOUR NEXT ACT WILL BE OF ANY USE TO THEM".  Reflecting on this stream of consciousness would empower each and every one of us to be more compassionate in our immediate earthly existence.  Perhaps the steps we need to emphasise should be something more than "corrective" medicine, as useful as that is.  They should embody health itself.  We can do more than simply struggle to stay afloat, we can do more than cope.  We can catalyze the challenges of these times as guide posts for "inner work".  The Moon, #2, reflects the light.  It is a meditative, sensitive vibration, penetrating the dark of the night with its magnetic silvery nerve healing light.  Now that we, collectively, are at such a crossroads that our survival is endangered, we could embrace the obvious signs for more than survival.  We can grow in consciousness and compassion.  Whatever helpful hints for support and freedom we glean en route must be tested against daily practice.  The struggle between heart and mind is fierce and continuous.  The need to see all suffering relieved is an essential component of our humanity.  Since the Moon vibration is the most feminine, receptive and fragile, we can open to the pain of the world and let it sear and break our hearts, because we can no longer keep them closed.  We have "seen" too much now.  Maybe we are finally ready to pay our collective debt with the price of compassion.  This, these times of 2009 and beyond, invite a generous process in which each day we do what we can motivated by love in whatever form, to whatever end.  These are no longer ideals to strive for.  We can reach them, we can be that way.  Images and examples of compassion beckon us onward.  Perceived separateness is there ... to be awakened out of.  Service to one another is a perfect vehicle for this awakening.  We see the beauty of our shared humanity in the light of our divinity.  From this vision comes a fullness of heart and hopefully a profound willingness to step into the service of life and inspire one another to spiral into illumination while existing in a world of paradoxes.

It is time to affirm our unity as the Moon, #2, 2+9 = 11 = 2, is the most interdependent of the celestial planetary vibrations and will reflect back whatever we give forth immediately by how we "feel".  We need to focus on what connects us as humans and release what sets us apart.  The Moon wants to emerge, honour the intuitive, the transcendent, the all, the whole, the fullness potential.  This energy wants us to forget the Self altogether and see with undeniable certainty, who we are beyond form: ONE SPIRIT.  The Moon will help us to understand that separateness as a lifestyle is "seen" to be a creation of the mind.  We need to pull forward together as community.  Love is not just a thought, it is a call to action.  May the luminous soma, moon nectar, guide us to discerning and compassionate action and remind us of the preciousness of life that we are part of.  May the cycle of "inner MOON work", unify us with the highest and best possible during these times.

This is a year of Dharma!  Remembering purpose, ethics, loving kindness.  Innate Dharma intelligence is in each of us.  This instinct for freedom touches us in the inevitable language of the heart.  We sense it as an intuitive pulse - a divine inner perception that wants to ignite meaning, in a world of suffering.  The Dharma means accepting the gift of being alive and being willing to transcend life's illusions.  The dharmic life is a committed, genuine exploration of the full spectrum of the human condition.  It is our quest for existential authenticity like only the Moon can feel and align to.  Let us follow what JOSEPH CAMPBELL called "The Soul's High Adventure".  After all this is our time on earth, so let us enter life more fully, deeply, not escape it, evolving our highest emotional intelligence both individually and together.  Let us experience interrelatedness. This is OUR time, together!!

This Moon 2009 year asks that we find liberation through living and show up for these turbulent times in our adventure.  We are surrounded by potential for free fall, as nobody seems to know what is going on or where this is all going to go.  Evolving a realistic attitude requires our involvement in everything as it comes.  This is truth.  Every emotion, every mind state, every expression of being is valuable, important to know and to learn from.   This year will most likely appear as an arduous all consuming assignment from the powers at large, requiring patience, courage and determination.  The Moon by nature is given to silence, is intuitive, reflective and imperceptible.  A magical process really.  Given that the year is structured by a double Sun: 2009 = 11 (which is twice the vibration of #1, the Sun) - representing the soul, and has the minor support of Mars #9 (courageous action), will help, together with discernment and intelligence, as our guides.  We may be required to enter the fiery mouth of many strange and terrifying circumstances. Personally and world wide. Giving into fear ( a mind state ) would be a mistake. Realistic spiritual discovery is a NOW involvement in everything we hoped to avoid, thus far.  Each of us now must learn about the consequences of our actions.  We must strive to sustain vital hope and peace at every moment.  To name and strive for personal goals while helping a mind to remain free of conclusions is a stunning accomplishment, one that must be attempted, over and over again.  Possibly en route to consciousness we will recognise that being human is a destiny fraught with every conceivable obstacle.  So we may need to learn to expand our space, reflect our essence, the pure place in us that was/is always free.  It is a journey of experience that begins and ends right now/so everywhere, anytime, always, in all ways. Partnering with the ALL could be our motto, our daily mantra. With the Moon as the dominate energy of 2009, we will need to feel our way into reality!  Clearly we must learn to live with cosmic ambiguity while affirming greater truth than we have been living thus far.  PIERRE TEILHARD DE CHARDIN informs us of both. the struggle and its resolution:
